The Caffè Lena History Project is an initiative created by History Project Director Jocelyn Arem on behalf of Caffè Lena, a nonprofit organization. As a special outreach project in collaboration with Caffè Lena and serving to augment the Caffè’s full time operating activity, this project does not receive any direct funding from Caffè Lena. It therefore depends entirely on grant and donor support from outside agencies and individuals. Please donate today! Your charitable donation is tax deductible. We seek funds to support:

• Research and production costs for our Book, CD/DVD box and exhibition
• Project operation including office overhead, archival storage, travel and supplies
• Development of the Caffè Lena Digital Archive
• Development of the Caffè Lena History Project website

Archival Donations

The Caffè Lena History Project is in the process of expanding the Caffè’s resource of archival material to enable continued teaching and research on the Caffè’s important place in America’s musical history. The archive is currently in development and unavailable for viewing. To donate archival materials including memorabilia and photographs, contact us.

Story Submissions

Did you go to the Caffè in the ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s, ‘00s? Know someone who did? Did you know Lena Spencer? Do you have stories to share? We’d love to hear from you!

Please note that at this time, all oral history submissions are being carefully indexed and preserved with the Caffè Lena Collection. We will contact oral history contributors for permissions regarding potential future uses of submitted material on this website and other History Project related endeavors.
